Digital Copiers
Since the beginning of the 70’s, the office
copier has become the most loved and useful tools of the office. The
copier came along, and carbon paper blew away with the winds of change.
Everybody began copying everything. Not just one copy was made
for filing, but multiples were, many times for people who didn’t even
need copies. Administrative time producing, distributing, and
storing documents escalated... not to mention the cost associated
with these activities. Filing cabinets started their insatiable growth.
More and more square footage was being dedicated to filing cabinets
and the copier.
Today the copier is, in most instances, fully digital . What does that mean? Now, the copier can be a tool to improve efficiency and productivity, reduce equipment needs, lower filing space needed and save money. By making a digitally scanned image from a piece of paper, many options are available to facilitate the documents distribution. Digital copiers today can copy (some in color), send faxes directly from the copier, send e-mail and, in many instances, function as a scanning portal for digital copies that can be delivered back through the computer network for distribution or archiving in a Document Management software.
